My first letterpressed wedding invite.
I don’t design many wedding invites, but I’ll make an exception for family and friends. The one stipulation I have is that the money is put into the production value of the invites. Letterpress is a traditional and very elegant way to go. I’ve wanted to work with letterpress for a while now. Up until this point the opportunity hadn’t presented itself.
I try to design for the medium that the end product will be executed in. I’m really working to reign in my tendency to overwork a piece, adding in detail after detail. I’m very happy with how they turned out, due to the phenomenal craftsmanship of Keegan and Katy at KEEGANMEEGAN & CO. press.

Photo Safari – Portland in Springtime
This past Sunday I felt the urge to stretch my legs. One tends to get cooped up over the Winter here in Portland. Spring offers a chance to shake off the cabin fever and inject some much needed color into our lives. I took my camera out with my favorite lenze – a cheap Canon 50mm starter. It has a very small focal point and a wide aperture. This allows it to capture a small area in high detail, while the rest of the image fades into a dreamy world of saturation and soft focus.
It’s nice to see things with fresh eyes every once in awhile. Now bring on the allergies!

Modern Living Pt. 2
I don’t believe I’ve posted this on here yet. It was originally intended as a desktop wallpaper, but it didn’t feel like it was suiting that purpose well enough so I gave the drawing to a friend. Coming back to it over a year later and I find I rather like it.
